Gawler Ranges Safaris are run by a passionate team of Aussies.

They have lived in the outback all their lives and began operating nature based Safaris in 1988, specialising in the wildlife our land has to offer. They provide an experience of the Outback and West Coast of South Australia with all of its awe and wonder… and love to explore this country of ours.

To date, we’ve trekked all through the South Australian Outback, to the Ocean and beyond… with guests from all over the globe… returning home with new tales to tell and memories of a land with wildlife that is so spectacular and unique.

The Ranges

The Gawler Ranges, 600kms to the North West of Adelaide on the Eyre Peninsula, is Outback Australia at its best. The diverse terrain changes from arid to semi desert and back, while the age old volcanic landscape is spectacular with its gorges and weathered rocky outcrops.

In Spring, the desert comes alive with a carpet of wildflowers covering the landscape… and has over one hundred species of birdlife… with colours that are something to be seen! There are also many large kangaroo, emu and wombat populations… so it’s pretty safe to say you’ll see plenty of them.

The Coast
On to the coast, you’ll experience the thrill of swimming with Australian Sea Lions and Dolphins in a protected bay. This alone has become a major attraction of our Safaris and accolades from guests from all over the World have highlighted how rich this nature, and life, experience is.

Number per tour
Most of our Safaris cater for small groups, from two to six people per vehicle, however we are very flexible in catering for larger groups upon request.

Good food, good company. Each trip is catered specifically for the group attending with the best of good food, comfortable accommodation and of course, good company!

Outback accommodation
Your Outback quarters are at Kangaluna Camp in large 7 by 5 metre luxury Safari Tents. Each have two rooms with a queen double and 2 single beds and your own private shower and toilet.

The tents are set a good distance apart for privacy… with your own view… so you can sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy a drink in peace on your arrival at the Camp.

We dine together at Kangaluna in the mess hut with complimentary drinks.
The Camp is situated in a beautiful bush setting with abundant wildlife around for viewing on a walk in the evening.

If you wish to experience a unique and safe “Wild Camp” experience, we will supply you with a comfy Swag.. and sleeping bag to set up in a spot of your choice… and gaze at the stars all night long!
